Ranger Group is seeking an experienced Service Engineer to deliver reactive and planned maintenance across fire, security, and TECS systems. You will respond to urgent call-outs, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance while keeping customers informed and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fire and security servicing and maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities with good reporting skills.
• Solid understanding of relevant British Standards and compliance.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergency call-outs within SLAs and participate in out-of-hours rota.
• Diagnose, repair, and resolve faults across fire, security and TECS systems.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
• Produce accurate service reports and communicate system status to clients.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and professional conduct.

What You’ll Be Doing - Reactive Work

• Respond to emergency call-outs within agreed SLAs
• Participate in our out-of-hours support rota
• Diagnose and resolve faults across fire, security, and telecom systems
• Deliver both temporary fixes and long-term solutions
• Produce clear, accurate service reports
• Communicate confidently with clients about system status and next steps

Planned Preventative Maintenance

• Carry out routine servicing and inspections to industry standards
• Test and maintain fire alarm systems (conventional & addressable)
• Service intruder alarms, CCTV (IP & analogue), and access control
• Maintain TECS systems including structured cabling and intercoms
• Identify system issues and recommend improvements

• Fire Alarm Systems (BS5839)
• Intruder Alarms
• CCTV (IP preferred)
• Access Control
• Emergency Lighting (BS5266)
• TECS / Structured Cabling / Door Entry

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in fire & security servicing
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Solid understanding of relevant British Standards
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full UK driving licence
• Confident IT skills for digital reporting
• Excellent communication and customer service

Desirable

• FIA or relevant fire/security qualifications
• ECS/CSCS card
• IPAF/PASMA
• Experience with major manufacturers' systems
• Understanding of SSAIB/NSI compliance
