Job summary

PT Renewables is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Installation Engineer to join our growing team in Cardiff. You'll deliver new installations, upgrades and small works on commercial and occupied sites, with hands-on emphasis on installation and commissioning.

You’ll work with fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control, install IP and integrated systems, and support project teams across multiple sites. Overtime is available with strong earning potential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ Fire & Security experience.
• Experience with fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control.
• IP / integrated systems experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• FIA / BS 5839 training or equivalent.
• Experience on commercial sites.
• Good customer communication and professional approach.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission fire and security systems.
• Work on fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control.
• Carry out system upgrades, modifications and small works.
• Install and configure IP and integrated systems.
• Work from drawings and technical specifications.
• Test systems and support commissioning.
• Complete installation documentation and commissioning records.
• Work alongside project teams and other engineers on larger installations.
• Occasionally carry out maintenance and fault-finding.

Fire & Security Installation Engineer – Small Works

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Fire & Security Installation Engineer to join a growing team delivering new installations, upgrades and small works across commercial and occupied sites.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys installing and commissioning systems rather than being purely maintenance focused.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Installing and commissioning fire and security systems
• Working on fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control
• Carrying out system upgrades, modifications and small works
• Installing and configuring IP and integrated systems
• Working from drawings and technical specifications
• Testing systems and supporting commissioning
• Working on complex cause & effect fire alarm systems
• Completing installation documentation and commissioning records
• Working alongside project teams and other engineers on larger installations
• Carrying out occasional maintenance and fault-finding where required

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years’ Fire & Security experience
• Strong installation experience across fire and/or security systems
• Good knowledge of fire alarms, intruder, CCTV and access control
• Experience with IP / integrated systems
• Confident commissioning and fault-finding systems
• Experience working on commercial sites
• Good customer communication and professional approach
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence
• FIA / BS 5839 training or equivalent
• Experience with complex fire alarm systems and cause & effect
• Experience with fire extinguishers
• Manufacturer-specific system knowledge
