Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a dedicated Fire & Security Maintenance Technician to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive tasks on a single site. Qualifications

  • Essential: Fire & Security Apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent).
  • Essential: Health and Safety Training.
  • Essential: Industry experience with maintenance duties including fault finding, fixing and preventative tasks.
  • Essential: Fully experienced in fire alarms with certificates to prove.
  • Essential: Valid ECS card.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM in line with schedules to maintain Fire & Security Systems.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance calls and client requests on site.
  • Coordinate first actions and liaise with visiting specialists on Fire Systems.
  • Ensure quality assurance procedures and keep accurate records.
  • Respond to call-outs and cover breakdowns as required.
  • Assist other trades when needed and manage workload priorities.
  • Provide reports about work and equipment to the client.

Job Purpose
  • To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance and extra works/emergencies in line with the contract needs on Fire Systems across a single site.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • To carry out PPM in line with set schedules, ensuring technical standards are maintained in order to get the best performance and reliability from the Fire & Security Systems.
  • Follow set technical standards in line with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) needs.
  • To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are followed in all respects and to keep accurate records and paperwork related to the Fire Systems.
  • To respond quickly and well to all relevant reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests.
  • To coordinate first actions related to all requests from the client.
  • To coordinate visiting specialist subcontractors related to Fire Systems aspects of the PPM schedules.
  • To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies related to the contract as required.
  • Fault finding related to the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
  • Assist other trades as needed.
  • Manage workload and prioritise jobs properly.
  • To provide reports about work and equipment as required.
  • To carry out other duties as requested by the Client.
  • To actively work towards the growth of the contract into other services such as System Upgrades, Like for Like replacements and Project works.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are:

Essential
  • Fire & Security Apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent).
  • Health and Safety Training.
  • Industry experience with similar maintenance duties including fault finding, fixing and preventative tasks.
  • The candidate must be fully experienced in fire alarms and have the certificates to prove this.
  • Hold a valid ECS card.
Desirable
  • IPAF certified.
  • PASMA certified.
