Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a skilled Fire & Security Technician to perform Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive duties on a single site. You will ensure high standards of service, health and safety compliance, and accurate record-keeping, working with a close-knit team to support the contract across fire systems.

Essential experience includes a fire & security apprenticeship, ECS card, and hands-on fault-finding with alarms. IPAF/PASMA are desirable qualifications for this role.

Qualifications

• Fire & Security apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Health and safety training is required.
• Industry experience with maintenance including fault finding and preventative tasks.
• Candidate must be experienced with fire alarms and hold proveable certificates.
• Hold a valid ECS card.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM to schedules; maintain technical standards for Fire & Security Systems.
• Follow HASAWA-aligned technical standards.
• Keep accurate records and paperwork for Fire Systems.
• Respond quickly to reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests.
• Coordinate first actions for all client requests.
• Coordinate visiting specialist subcontractors for Fire Systems aspects of PPM.
• Respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies.
• Fault finding related to PPM or Reactive maintenance.
• Assist other trades as needed.
• Manage workload and prioritise jobs.
• Provide reports about work and equipment.
• Carry out other duties as requested by the Client.
• Actively contribute to growth of the contract into upgrades and project works.

Job Purpose

• To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance and extra works/emergencies in line with the contract needs on Fire Systems across a single site.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• To carry out PPM in line with set schedules, ensuring technical standards are maintained in order to get the best performance and reliability from the Fire & Security Systems.
• Follow set technical standards in line with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) needs.
• To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are followed in all respects and to keep accurate records and paperwork related to the Fire Systems.
• To respond quickly and well to all relevant reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests.
• To coordinate first actions related to all requests from the client.
• To coordinate visiting specialist subcontractors related to Fire Systems aspects of the PPM schedules.
• To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies related to the contract as required.
• Fault finding related to the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
• Assist other trades as needed.
• Manage workload and prioritise jobs properly.
• To provide reports about work and equipment as required.
• To carry out other duties as requested by the Client.
• To actively work towards the growth of the contract into other services such as System Upgrades, Like for Like replacements and Project works.

Person RequirementsQualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are:

Essential

• Fire & Security Apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent).
• Health and Safety Training.
• Industry experience with similar maintenance duties including fault finding, fixing and preventative tasks.
• The candidate must be fully experienced in fire alarms and have the certificates to prove this.
• Hold a valid ECS card.

Desirable

• IPAF certified.
• PASMA certified.
