Job summary

Security Red Alert in London is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer for our South West London team. We install and maintain fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, AOV smoke ventilation and fire sprinkler systems across 32 London boroughs.

Based out of our Summerstown SW17 office, the role covers a London patch with a company van and a clear path for career growth in a growing security business.

Qualifications

• Experience in the fire and security industry.
• Full UK driving licence; role is mobile across London.
• Confidence with electrical work: containment, cabling, terminations and testing.
• Ability to work unsupervised on site and deal directly with customers.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Installing, servicing and fault-finding fire alarm systems to BS 5839.
• CCTV, intruder alarm and access control installation and maintenance.
• Emergency lighting, AOV smoke ventilation and associated remedial work.
• First-fix and second-fix containment, cabling and terminations.
• Completing certification and service paperwork for each visit.
• Attending reactive callouts across our London service area.

Security Red Alert is hiring an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join our South West London team. We install and maintain fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, AOV smoke ventilation and fire sprinkler systems for homes, HMOs, blocks of flats and commercial premises across all 32 London boroughs. Most of the work sits in South and South West London, so the role suits an engineer living in or near Tooting, Mitcham, Croydon, Sutton, Wimbledon, Morden, Streatham, Carshalton, Wallington, Thornton Heath or Norbury.

What you will be doing

• Installing, servicing and fault-finding fire alarm systems to BS 5839
• CCTV, intruder alarm and access control installation and maintenance

What we are looking for

What we offer

• £27,000 to £35,000 a year, depending on experience

Nice to have

• BS 5839 fire alarm experience, particularly HMO and communal systems
• 18th Edition, ECS/CSCS card, IPAF or PASMA
• Experience with Texecom, Hikvision, Paxton or similar systems

Experience in the fire and security industry. Full UK driving licence. Confident with electrical work including containment, cabling, terminations and testing.
