Job summary

Complete Security Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design Estimator in the UK to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for Fire and Security systems projects. The role supports the bid process from initial pricing to securing profitable contracts, working with account managers and BD teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong numerical and analytical skills, experience estimating fire and security systems in the UK, and proficiency with Excel and estimating tools.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating Fire and Security systems within the UK market.
• Strong understanding of Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Experience producing detailed quotations and cost models.
• Knowledge of British Standards relevant to Fire and Security systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations.
• Complete tender submissions within specified deadlines.
• Conduct site surveys where required to support design and pricing activities.
• Calculate labour, materials, subcontractor, commissioning, and maintenance costs.
• Prepare detailed bills of quantities and equipment schedules.
• Review project risks and commercial assumptions.
• Support bid clarification meetings and client presentations.
• Assist in securing profitable projects through accurate estimating.
• Review supplier quotations and negotiate pricing where appropriate.
• Contribute to bid strategy and value engineering exercises.
• Support account managers and business development teams during the sales process.
