Job Description: Fire Safety Manager at Atlas BFW Management Ltd

The successful candidate will work within a small team of fire safety and health and safety specialists, managing KPIs related to fire safety. Responsibilities include providing advice on fire safety legislation, identifying and mitigating fire risks, advising on control measures, monitoring performance, and communicating lessons learned from fire incidents. You will also advise service users on managing fire incidents and unwanted fire signals, and present information to Atlas customers, end users, and clinical teams.

You will serve as the Appointed Person (AP) for fire safety, advising on all related matters. This includes reviewing and improving safety strategies, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with current legislative and operational requirements. Strong IT skills and the ability to produce and present reports are essential.

Developing a good understanding of the sites within the estate and the outsourced service providers will be part of your role. You will support the Director of Operations and Head of Estates in meeting legislative obligations, deputising across various duties. You will review performance data, initiate actions to maintain standards, and develop service improvement plans as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and site-specific health, safety, and welfare policies.
  • Maintain communication with Ward/Departmental Managers regarding service activities.
  • Utilise IT systems to monitor and report data within management systems.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for staff.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Head of Estates or the Director of Operations.

The post involves overseeing fire safety services across multiple sites, including acute and community-based facilities.
