Job summary

Orbit Group is seeking an experienced fire safety leader to head our Fire Safety Team and shape how Orbit manages fire safety across our homes. You will drive proactive risk management, compliance programmes and assurance for customers and communities.

You will lead the Fire Safety Management Plan, oversee risk assessments and remedial actions, develop a high-performing team, and build strong relationships with Fire and Rescue Services. Social housing experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in Fire Safety, Building Surveying, Engineering, Construction, Property Management or equivalent.
• Significant experience in a senior fire safety, compliance or technical leadership role within social housing or a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and risk assessment methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Orbit's Fire Safety Management Plan and related compliance programmes.
• Act as senior technical fire safety expert, providing guidance and assurance across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with Fire Safety Orders, regulations and related standards.
• Oversee Fire Risk Assessment programmes across the portfolio and prioritise actions.
• Governance and oversight of fire safety compliance including doors, alarms, lighting, and sprinklers.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to maintain proactive safety culture.
