Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) is seeking a Fire Safety Inspector to be based at HIWFRS HQ in Eastleigh or at one of the county hubs. The role involves carrying out safety inspections and providing expert guidance to reduce fire risk.

You will participate in risk-based inspections, handle statutory consultations, and work with partners to enforce the Fire Safety Order while updating policy documents.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current fire safety legislation and its application in the UK Fire and Rescue Service.
• Previous experience in a fire safety-related role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Risk Based Inspection Programme, including pre-planned and reactive inspections.
• Provide advice, support and guidance to business owners to reduce fire risk.
• Enforce the Fire Safety Order by collecting evidence and writing reports.
• Review and update policy documents and participate in SAG processes.
