Job summary

Thomas & Adamson International Ltd (part of the Egis Group) in the UK seeks a Fire Consultant to lead on project delivery and establish a growing fire engineering discipline across buildings, including cladding remediation and safety.

You will work with Building Surveying, Project Management, Cost Management and Principal Designer teams, developing client relationships and advancing our fire service standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in a fire-related subject with substantial consultancy experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK codes and standards (ADB/Handbooks) and familiarity with international frameworks.
• Experience in developing fire strategies, means of escape design and fire resistance.
• Proficiency in analysis/modelling tools (evacuation modelling; CFD).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to clients and authorities.
• Evidence of leading multi-disciplinary coordination and delivering to time, cost and quality.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for site/client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Act as interface between client, design team, contractors and authorities to deliver successful technical and commercial outcomes.
• Develop fire strategies and means of escape for projects (new build and refurbishment).
• Plan and deliver project scopes, budgets and programmes; manage risk, change and quality.
• Provide construction stage support: design checks, site inspections, QA and handover documentation.
• Lead cladding remediation strategies and integrate with facade/fire protection disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation, standards and client governance.
