Job summary

Egis UK is seeking a Director of Fire Engineering to establish and lead a dedicated fire consultancy within our Buildings Advisory unit in the UK, covering London, Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will shape the service, drive project delivery, and build the team while leveraging Egis’ global resources.

The role combines technical delivery with practice leadership, mentoring, and client relationship development in a rapidly expanding market including cladding remediation and building safety programs.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety standards and building regulations.
• Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as interface between client, design team and authorities to deliver outcomes.
• Lead the development of fire strategies for new build and refurbishment projects.
• Plan scopes, budgets and programmes; manage risk and quality throughout.
• Provide construction-stage assurance: design checks, site inspections, and handover information.
