Job summary

Irwin and Colton in London is seeking a Fire Safety and Compliance Surveyor on a 12-month fixed-term contract to lead inspections, oversee remedial actions, and ensure compliance with fire safety standards across residential properties.

You will manage contractors, maintain records, and communicate with clients to deliver practical safety solutions, supported by CIOB Level 6 Fire Safety training and strong knowledge of fire legislation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in fire safety inspection, building safety, or housing maintenance.
• Knowledge of fire safety legislation and building regulations, including compartmentation surveying.
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fire door inspections and oversee replacements and remedial actions.
• Act swiftly on fire risk assessments to mitigate hazards and safeguard occupants.
• Oversee contractors to ensure work meets required safety standards.
• Maintain meticulous records supporting building safety and compliance.
• Communicate proactively with customers and stakeholders to deliver safety solutions.
