Job summary

Mitie (Tersus) is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to join our East London team. You will conduct fire safety risk assessments, door surveys and compartmentation surveys across varied properties, producing clear reports and practical recommendations for clients.

We value professional qualifications, strong regulatory knowledge and excellent communication to explain findings confidently. You’ll work from our office or at client sites, with opportunities for development and progression within Mitie.

Qualifications

• A degree or qualification in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety (desirable).
• Registered with the IFSM, IFE or similar competency scheme (minimum intermediate level).
• Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments, fire door surveys and compartmentation surveys.
• Strong understanding of current fire safety regulations and legislation.
• Exceptional communication skills — the ability to engage and inform clients with ease.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire safety risk assessments, fire door inspections and compartmentation surveys in line with the latest regulations.
• Produce clear and actionable reports that guide clients towards compliance.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, explaining findings and recommendations with clarity and confidence.
• Stay ahead of changes in fire safety legislation and industry best practices, ensuring our advice is always the best available.
• Support the business by working flexibly and responsively from the company's office or from client's sites as required.
