Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join a leading fire safety consultancy in London. You will conduct fire risk assessments, fire door inspections and compartmentation surveys across a varied portfolio of properties.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, excellent report-writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage workloads across London and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments across a variety of property types.
• Undertaking fire door inspections and compartmentation surveys.
• Identifying fire safety hazards, deficiencies and areas of non-compliance.
• Producing accurate, detailed and actionable fire risk assessment reports.
• Providing practical recommendations to help clients achieve and maintain compliance.
• Liaising with clients, building managers and relevant stakeholders.
• Advising clients on fire safety legislation, risk management and remedial requirements.
• Ensuring assessments comply with current legislation, industry guidance and recognised standards.
• Managing workloads effectively across London and surrounding areas.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of fire safety regulations and best practices.

The Role

About You

Essential Requirements:

• Registered with the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or an equivalent recognised competency scheme at a minimum of intermediate level

• Proven experience conducting fire risk assessments

• Experience undertaking fire door inspections and compartmentation surveys

• Strong understanding of current UK fire safety legislation and regulations

• Ability to identify fire safety risks and provide practical recommendations

• Excellent report-writing and communication skills

• Confident communicating technical findings to clients and stakeholders

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workloads independently

Desirable Qualifications:

• Degree or recognised qualification in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety or a related discipline

• Additional professional fire safety qualifications

• Experience assessing a broad range of property types
