Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Fire Pump Engineer to join a long-established specialist engineering business covering the Midlands. The role is home-based in a field service capacity, responsible for service, maintenance, fault finding and installation of fire pumps at customer sites.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of diesel engines and be able to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, with support from office coordinators and a new company vehicle provided.

Qualifications

  • Fire Pump Engineer experience or closely related engineering position.
  • Experience servicing, maintaining or repairing fire pumps or similar equipment.
  • Good knowledge and practical experience of diesel engines.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Electrical knowledge would be highly advantageous.
  • Electrical qualifications desirable but not essential.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based position.
  • A valid CSCS card.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment and identify potential faults or maintenance requirements.

  • Ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
  • Complete work in accordance with required technical and safety standards.
  • Manage workload effectively while travelling between customer sites.
  • Provide a professional service and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Job description

Fire Pump Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Fire Pump Engineer to join a long-established specialist engineering business, covering the Midlands.

This is a home-based field service position carrying out the service, maintenance, fault finding and installation of fire pumps and associated equipment at customer sites.

The position would suit an experienced Fire Pump Engineer or an engineer from a closely related background who has strong knowledge of diesel engines and the ability to confidently diagnose both mechanical and electrical faults.

You will be supported by dedicated office coordinators and provided with a new company vehicle, phone, tablet, PPE and everything required to carry out the role effectively.

The Role

As a Fire Pump Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out service and planned maintenance on fire pumps and associated equipment.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Carrying out fire pump installations at customer premises.
  • Inspecting equipment and identifying potential faults or maintenance requirements.
  • Working with diesel engines and associated mechanical components.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this Fire Pump Engineer position, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a Fire Pump Engineer or within a closely related engineering position.
  • Experience servicing, maintaining or repairing fire pumps or similar equipment.
  • Good knowledge and practical experience of diesel engines.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • The ability to logically diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Electrical knowledge would be highly advantageous.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications would be desirable but are not essential.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach to your work.
  • The ability to work independently in a field-based position.
  • A valid CSCS card.
  • A full UK driving licence.
