Job summary

A&F Sprinklers Ltd is seeking a skilled Fire Pump Engineer to join the Service & Maintenance team covering sites across the South area. The role involves testing, servicing and commissioning fire pump systems, with regular travel to client locations and overnight stays.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid UK driving license, have hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, and be comfortable with manual tasks.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving license with 2+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of engines, motors and fire pump systems.
• Physically fit for manual tasks (lifting, bending, standing).
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect flow monitoring devices: pressure switches, flow switches, zone checks.
• Service air compressors, jockey pumps and controllers.
• Install and commission pump ends (end suction and split case).
• Carry out remedial work on electric and diesel fire pumps and replace diesel engines with base modifications.
• Perform 24‑month diesel engine services; travel to client sites with 1–2 overnight stays per week.

As a Fire Pump Engineer, you’ll take on a variety of electrical and mechanical tasks to ensure our systems run safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include testing and inspecting flow monitoring devices such as pressure switches, flow switches, and zone checks; servicing air compressors, jockey pumps, and controllers; and installing and commissioning pump ends, including end suction and split case types. You’ll also carry out remedial work on electric and diesel fire pumps, replace diesel engines with necessary base modifications, and perform 24-month diesel engine services. This role involves regular travel to client sites, with 1–2 overnight stays per week.

What You’ll Need
