Job summary

A&F Sprinklers is seeking a Sprinkler Design Engineer to join the Main Contracts team. You will design automatic sprinkler systems in line with industry standards, with hands-on site visits and collaboration across departments to ensure quality and safety.

You will attend contract handover meetings, review drawings, and produce construction documents while driving continuous improvements across the business. A UK driving licence is preferred for site visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing automatic sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of LPC/BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM Global Datasheets, and FHC rules.
• Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and progress LPCB design qualifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with design checklists and documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to attend training and company meetings.
• Valid UK driving licence (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sprinkler systems in line with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, and FM Global standards.
• Produce and review detailed design drawings and hydraulic calculations.
• Attend contract handover meetings and conduct site checks to verify pipe routes.
• Prepare and issue final construction drawings to stakeholders; produce 'As Fitted' drawings.
• Support other departments to drive continuous improvement and overall operations.

We are seeking a Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our growing Main Contracts team. You’ll be responsible for designing automatic sprinkler systems in line with industry standards and company expectations. This is a hands‑on role requiring site visits, collaboration with multiple departments, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing sprinkler systems in accordance with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, and FM Global standards. Your duties will include producing and reviewing detailed design drawings and hydraulic calculations, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and company standards.

You will attend contract handover meetings, conduct site checks to verify pipe routes and avoid clashes, and collaborate with the Design Manager to resolve any design issues. Additionally, you will prepare and issue final construction drawings to relevant stakeholders, produce “As Fitted” drawings throughout the contract, and support other departments to drive continuous improvement and contribute to overall business operations.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in designing automatic sprinkler systems.
