Job summary

Hall & Kay in the UK is seeking a skilled design engineer to develop sprinkler systems from concept through to working drawings and hydraulic calculations. You will coordinate with clients, site teams, and other trades to ensure schemes meet specifications and programme requirements.

The role requires robust design experience, familiarity with LPC 12845, and AutoCAD proficiency, with Revit and Canute as advantageous. Some travel and nights away may be required.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive experience in a design engineering role within the sprinkler industry (essential).
• Knowledge of LPC BS EN 12845 rule (essential).
• LPCB Intermediate qualification & LPCB Full Hydraulic Calculation qualification (desirable).
• Experience using AutoCAD (essential); Revit 3D (desirable); Canute can be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design sprinkler systems through coordination with client representatives and other trades.
• Monitor design programme against construction schedule and specifications.
• Prepare and issue complete working drawings and hydraulic calculations.
• Gather information from site, architects, consultants, and contractors for design docs.
• Attend site meetings when design matters are discussed.
• List materials from drawings for procurement, variations, and rates.
• Procure materials and monitor equipment levels.
• Support project manager/design manager and adhere to company policies.
