Daniel Owen is looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer to start with one of our clients based within London. This Fire Alarm Engineer will be employed on a permanent basis and will focus on Fire Alarm and AOV systems (Automatic Opening Vents).
Job Description:
You will need to manage yourself whilst on site. Good understanding of technology, organization, and communication skills are essential. Ability to work from steps and ladders, with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret fire alarm or AOV drawings and specifications for installations and work accordingly.
- Work safely, complying with current health and safety regulations and standards for Fire Alarms.
- Demonstrate knowledge of working with various Fire Alarm controls and equipment, including Closed Protocol Systems.
- Complete scheduled servicing of Fire Alarm and AOV systems.
- Maintain and repair Fire Alarm and AOV systems, including system adaptations.
- Complete full installations and upgrades of fire alarm systems.
- Complete all paperwork and job reports via the Oneserve application.
- Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 & BS 5839 Fire Alarm regulations.
- Attend and complete all company-provided training sessions.
- Participate in performance improvement programs and regular appraisals.
- Liaise effectively with office staff and supervisors to resolve queries.
- Adhere to any KPIs set by the company.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by your line manager or company directors.
Required Skills, Attributes & Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of the Fire & AOV industry.
- Experience in installation, maintenance, programming, servicing, and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of fire safety standards and legislation.
- A proactive and responsible approach to health and safety.
- Ability to use mobile devices to complete electronic job sheets and certifications accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Highly organized and reliable.
- Takes ownership of outcomes with high accountability and integrity.
- Qualifications include Level 3 in Electrical Installation, FIA training and certification, and FIA AO Level 3 in Fire Detection and Alarm Design Theory and Regulatory Requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the fire safety industry.
- Full UK driving license held for at least 12 months.
