N/A is seeking a Fire Engineer to join a major UK contractor's remediation team in London, balancing desktop assessment with real site exposure on HRBs and facade remediation projects.
You will contribute to fire safety information in BIM models and project documentation, with career progression toward Senior Fire Engineer and CPD support. Hybrid working and in-house development are offered.
A lot of fire engineers spend their first few years assessing external wall systems almost entirely from a laptop: photographs, intrusive survey reports, drawings that may or may not match what's actually behind the render. It's necessary work, but it can start to feel one step removed from the building itself.
Our client, a major UK contractor with an established in-house design and engineering function, is looking for a Fire Engineer to join their London remediation team with a genuinely different balance: still plenty of assessment and report writing, but with real, regular exposure to the buildings themselves, site inspections, contractor liaison, and the chance to see a facade remediation scheme move from EWS1-legacy assessment through to completed works.
THE ROLE
Working under the direction of a Senior Fire Engineer, you'll support the delivery of retrospective fire strategies and facade remediation assessments for existing HRBs across London. There's a meaningful digital thread to the role too, contributing fire safety information into BIM coordination and project models, so it suits someone who wants their technical work properly integrated rather than sitting in a separate report nobody else opens.
