Job summary

London Fire Solutions is seeking a Machinist to join our factory team in Gillingham, working on the production and preparation of fire doors using specialist machinery.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm. The role starts self-employed for 3 months with a pathway to permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating woodworking machinery in joinery or furniture manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC and other production equipment preferred.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills; reliable and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC, Beamsaw, Edgebander, and other machinery.
• Assist in manufacture and preparation of fire doors.
• Follow technical specifications and production standards.
• Perform quality checks to ensure compliance.
• Support team to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Maintain a safe and organised workspace.
