Johnson Controls in Manchester is seeking a Fire & Security Design Engineer to provide technical design support across Fire and/or Security projects during delivery. You will ensure designs stay compliant, practical, and aligned with client requirements, while working in a hybrid environment with two office days.

You will review designs, manage technical changes, resolve project queries, and support handover from post-design through to completion.

Competenze

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Fire and/or Security post-design engineering role.
• Strong technical knowledge of Fire or Security systems, with experience supporting projects through delivery.
• Knowledge of BS5839-1 and relevant industry standards or best practice.
• Experience working on projects valued at £500k+.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience working within fast-paced, collaborative project environments.
• Must have continuously resided in the UK for the previous 5 years to meet security vetting requirements.

Job Description

As a Fire & Security Design Engineer, you will provide technical design support across Fire and/or Security projects during the delivery phase, ensuring solutions remain compliant, practical, and aligned to client requirements. Working in a hybrid environment (2 days per week in the office), you will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Installers and customers to review designs, manage technical changes, resolve project queries, and support successful project delivery from post-design through to completion.
