Job summary

4way Recruitment is seeking a Fire and Security Service & Maintenance Engineer to service and commission a range of fire and electronic security systems in Leeds and surrounding areas. The role includes fault diagnosis, installation support and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will work with leading manufacturers, continue training, and participate in an out-of-hours call-out rotas. The position offers a strong benefits package and long-term career development.

Qualifications

• Strong background with fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems.
• Experience with multiple manufacturers and integrated security platforms.
• Good understanding of networking principles is advantageous.
• Previous experience commissioning and maintaining commercial fire alarm systems.
• Willingness to complete manufacturer training (Gent, Paxton, Texecom, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing, maintenance and commissioning across a range of fire and electronic security systems.
• Diagnose faults and restore systems to full working order.
• Support installation, configuration and testing of fire alarm systems where required.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship while meeting customer expectations on every visit.
• Maintain accurate digital records and service documentation for each job.
• Work in line with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Provide professional customer support and technical advice when required.
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.

Fire and Security Service & Maintenance Engineer – 23 Days Holiday Increasing to 27 & Comprehensive Benefits Package

Location of works: Leeds and surrounding.

Salary Bracket: Competitive. On target earnings (OTE): Competitive. Industry: Fire & Security.

Competitive basic salary based on experience.

Standard working hours Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Annual leave starting at 23 days, increasing with service to 27 days, plus bank holidays and an additional birthday holiday.

Key Responsibilities

• Good understanding of networking principles and associated technologies is advantageous.
• Previous experience commissioning and maintaining commercial fire alarm systems.
• Gent product knowledge or willingness to complete manufacturer training.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic ability.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with a customer‑focused approach.
• Motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Keen to develop technical knowledge through ongoing training.
