Job summary

AMB Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer for a hands-on role focused on complex life safety systems in critical environments. The position is primarily North West-based with UK travel and occasional overseas work in Germany and the Netherlands.

A company van is provided and overtime/expenses are covered. Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years on fire alarm systems, strong addressable experience (Gent/Notifier/Advanced), and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years’ experience working on fire alarm systems.
• Strong experience with addressable systems (e.g. Gent, Notifier, Advanced).
• Gas suppression experience is desirable and differentiates candidates.
• Experience with commissioning, fault finding and system-level troubleshooting.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex systems within critical environments (e.g. data centres).
• Site-based across the North West with UK travel as required.

Job description

An established specialist life safety contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to support continued growth across their service and maintenance division.

This is a hands-on role working on complex, critical life safety systems, offering strong earning potential through overtime, travel and allowances.

The Role

• Installation (project-based), commissioning, servicing and remedial works on fire alarm and fire suppression systems
• Working on complex systems within critical environments (e.g. data centres and high-risk sites)
• Predominantly site-based across the North West, with UK travel as required
• Occasional working away: Typically 1 week per quarter (sometimes 2)
• Overseas work mainly in Germany and the Netherlands
• All travel, accommodation, food and expenses covered when working away
• Paid overtime and enhanced rates for UK and overseas work

Experience Required

• 3–5+ years’ experience working on fire alarm systems
• Strong experience with addressable systems (e.g. Gent, Notifier, Advanced)
• Experience with gas suppression is highly desirable and a key differentiator
• Experience with commissioning, fault finding and system-level troubleshooting
• Comfortable working independently on complex sites
• Full UK driving licence

Package Details

• Basic salary circa £40,000
• Higher salaries available (£42k-£43k+) for strong all-round candidates
• Significant overtime available – realistic total earnings £50k-£70k+
