Job summary

Protec Fire & Security Group Ltd in the United Kingdom is looking for a field service engineer to carry out regular servicing, reactive maintenance and commissioning of fire detection, emergency lighting and related systems. You will ensure compliance with British Standards, complete documentation and maintain high professional standards.

You will work as part of an area team, respond to on-site service calls, and undertake necessary training.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience/competence.
• Experience in electrical/electronic sector.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and measuring devices.
• Experience with fire alarms and related systems.
• Familiarity with health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Regular servicing and reactive maintenance of fire alarm and related systems.
• Commissioning fire alarm and associated systems when trained.
• Maintain high standards of paperwork for customer, company and personal records.
• Undertake on-call duties as part of the Area Team.
• Communicate effectively with staff at all carrying levels within the company.

Job description

To carry out regular servicing, reactive maintenance and commissioning of our clients’ Fire detection, Emergency lighting and associated systems along with completing and submitting all relevant documentation. Ensuring up to date knowledge of, and compliance with, all relevant British Standards is essential. Excellent opportunities for career progression, grading system, full product training provided, test equipment and specialist tools provided.

40 hours p/w with overtime and on-call available

Typical Responsibilities

• To work with and under instruction from Customer Services Team Members, complying with work instructions, company policies and Health and Safety procedures.
• To maintain a working knowledge of simple circuits and measuring devices and an understanding and respect of electrical circuits as well as undertaking training courses where necessary.
• To act as a Company Ambassador. You must be smart in appearance, pleasant in attitude and capable of communicating diplomatically to strengthen customer relationships.
• Regular routine servicing and reactive maintenance of our clients’ Fire Alarm and associated systems.
• With relevant training, commission our clients’ Fire Alarm and associated systems.
• Maintain an accurate and high standard of Customer, Company and Personal paperwork.
• Undertake ‘On-Call’ duties as part of your Area Team.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.
