Job summary

SER Limited in Bolton is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join a growing organisation delivering fire, security and life-safety projects across the North West. You will install, configure and commission fire alarm systems on diverse commercial and public-sector sites.

The role requires travel across Bolton and the North West, performing first- and second-fix installations, wiring, testing and commissioning, and ensuring compliance with BS 5839 and manufacturer

Qualifications

• Experience installing fire alarm systems in commercial or public-sector settings.
• Knowledge of BS 5839 and relevant standards.
• Willingness to travel across Bolton, Greater Manchester and the North West.

Responsibilities

• Install conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Install, terminate and test fire alarm cabling.
• Carry out first-fix and second-fix fire alarm installation works.
• Install fire alarm panels, detectors, sounders and call points.
• Configure and programme fire alarm control panels.
• Carry out testing, commissioning and final system checks.
• Complete fault finding and rectify installation issues.
• Work from electrical drawings and project documentation.
• Ensure installations comply with BS 5839 and industry standards.
• Provide high level of customer service and liaise with project teams.

Fire Alarm Installation Engineer - Bolton / North West

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 basic

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join a rapidly growing and well-established organisation operating across the fire, security, electrical and compliance sectors.

The role will involve travelling across Bolton, Greater Manchester and the wider North West, installing, configuring and commissioning fire alarm and life safety systems across a diverse range of commercial and public-sector sites.

The Role

As a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation, wiring, configuration, testing and commissioning of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.

You'll work across a varied portfolio of projects, ensuring installations are completed safely, professionally and in accordance with relevant standards, manufacturer requirements and project specifications.

You'll work closely with project managers, site teams, customers and other contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Install conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Install, terminate and test fire alarm cabling.
• Carry out first-fix and second-fix fire alarm installation works.
• Install fire alarm panels, detectors, sounders, call points, interfaces and associated equipment.
• Install containment including conduit, trunking, tray and basket where required.
• Configure and programme fire alarm control panels.
• Carry out testing, commissioning and final system checks.
• Complete fault finding and rectify installation issues.
• Work from electrical drawings, fire alarm schematics, specifications and project documentation.
• Ensure installations comply with BS 5839 and relevant industry standards.
• Complete installation, commissioning and handover documentation.
• Liaise with project managers, site managers, customers and other contractors.
• Ensure all equipment and materials are installed correctly and efficiently.
• Identify additional works and communicate these to the relevant project team.
• Provide a professional and high level of customer service.
• Manage your own workload and work effectively to project deadlines.
• Ensure all works are completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.

Fire Alarm Systems & Manufacturers

Experience working with a range of fire alarm manufacturers and systems would be highly advantageous, including:

Experience with other major fire alarm manufacturers and addressable systems will also be considered.
