Job summary

Magenta International in London and the Home Counties is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer with strong service, maintenance, installation and commissioning experience to support our expanding customer base across London and the Home Counties.

This role involves working across a variety of commercial environments with open and addressable fire alarm systems, including Gent and Notifier, and offers opportunities for progression and ongoing training, plus a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience servicing, maintaining and installing fire alarm systems.
• FIA Installation and Maintenance Modules or equivalent industry training.
• Experience working with both open and closed protocol fire alarm systems.
• Strong commissioning and fault-finding experience.
• Good understanding of BS5839 and current Health & Safety legislation.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to manage workloads and meet service deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits on fire alarm systems.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Complete commissioning of new fire alarm installations.
• Undertake small works, remedial repairs and system upgrades.
• Assist with larger installation projects where required.
• Ensure all systems are maintained in accordance with BS5839 standards.
• Accurately complete service reports and certification documentation.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers and colleagues.
• Work safely and ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
