Job summary

Berry Recruitment Group is hiring a committed Fire Alarm & Extinguisher Engineer for a well-established fire engineering company based in Slough, covering London and the South East. You will install, service and maintain fire alarm systems and extinguishers, travelling across London and the South East while upholding health and safety standards.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, strong fault-finding skills, and qualifications in FireQual and related certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Experience with servicing fire extinguishers is a plus.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Health and safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Installation, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Carrying out routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems.
• Fault-finding and diagnosing issues with fire alarm systems.
• Carrying out servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
• Identifying faults and carrying out repairs and remedial works.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
• Completing service reports and documentation accurately.
• Providing professional customer service on client premises.
• Travel to customer sites across London and the South East.
• Working independently with high workmanship standards.
• Liaising with customers and explaining work performed.

Role: Fire Alarm & Extinguisher Engineer

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Location: Slough, Berkshire - covering London and the South East

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities of the Fire Alarm & Extinguisher Engineer

• Installation, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems
• Carrying out routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems
• Fault-finding and diagnosing issues with fire alarm systems
• Carrying out servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers
• Identifying faults and carrying out appropriate repairs and remedial works
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements
• Completing service reports and associated documentation accurately
• Providing professional and courteous customer service while working on client premises
• Travelling to customer sites across London and the South East
• Working independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Liaising with customers and providing clear explanations of work carried out
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested by the line manager

About You

• Previous experience in fire alarm installation, servicing, maintenance and/or fault-finding
• Experience working with fire extinguishers would be highly advantageous
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Professional approach when dealing with customers
• Reliable, organised and willing to work across London and the South East
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements

• ECS or CSCS Card
• IPAF certification
