Qualifications

Morgan Fire Protection’s Fire Alarm Service Engineer’s

Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on fire detection systems at client sites, ensuring optimal functionality and full compliance with current industry regulations and standards

  • Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across a diverse range of technologies and customer sites.
  • Perform fire alarm installations in accordance with industry best practices and relevant safety standards.
  • Commission fire alarm systems, with a primary focus on Advanced and Kentec panels, ensuring full compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Plan and execute scheduled maintenance and responsive service visits within your designated area.
  • Demonstrate strong technical proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently, employing systematic fault-finding techniques.
  • Lead and support small to medium-scale installation projects, providing technical guidance to installation teams as needed.
  • Work accurately from technical drawings and ensure the completion of all required documentation and compliance reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and application of all relevant standards and regulations, including BS7671:2018, BS5839-1:2017, and BS5839-6:2019.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality customer service, ensuring a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.

For this specific opportunity, we are looking for candidates who offer:

  • Proven experience working as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer or in a similar technical role within the fire safety industry.
  • Possession of FIA Units 1–5 (or equivalent qualifications) demonstrating a solid understanding of fire detection systems.
  • Qualified to the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance and servicing of fire detection and alarm systems across various platforms.
  • Strong technical acumen with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to follow technical instructions and industry standards precisely.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with a professional and courteous approach when dealing with clients.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workloads efficiently, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Electrical background essential – prior experience as an electrician or a sound understanding of electrical systems is required.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing tasks in a physically demanding environment, including working at heights or in confined spaces as necessary.
  • Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Able to provide valid certificates of competency and qualifications upon request.
  • Please note: This role does not include participation in an on-call rota.
