Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician to service and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across a variety of customer sites in the UK. The role requires fault finding, diagnostics, and ensuring compliance with BS 5839-1:2025 and BS 5266-1:2025, with strong attention to detail and customer service.

You will have hands-on experience with addressable and conventional systems, and be prepared for occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Knowledge of BS 5839-1:2025 and BS 5266-1:2025 standards.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical reports.
• Willingness to travel and stay away overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and remediate fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across customer sites.
• Perform inspections, testing, diagnostics and fault finding with detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and health and safety policies.
• Assist with other fire-related systems as required (e.g., air sampling and nurse call).
• Maintain accurate records of work and communicate effectively with customers.
