HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician to service and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across a variety of customer sites in the UK. The role requires fault finding, diagnostics, and ensuring compliance with BS 5839-1:2025 and BS 5266-1:2025, with strong attention to detail and customer service.

You will have hands-on experience with addressable and conventional systems, and be prepared for occasional overnight stays.

Qualificações

Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician

Salary: £40,000 basic (dependent on experience) + Commission Incentive Package

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (40 hours per week)

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician to carry out maintenance, servicing, fault finding, breakdowns, remedial works and occasional minor installations across a variety of customer sites. The successful candidate will have strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining compliance with relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and carry out remedial works on fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across various customer sites.
• Conduct inspections, testing, diagnostics and fault finding, producing detailed technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with BS 5839-1:2025, BS 5266-1:2025 and all relevant health and safety policies.
• Work on other fire-related systems, including air sampling systems, beam detection, flame detection, disabled toilet alarms, disabled refuge systems and nurse call systems.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work completed.
• Communicate effectively with customers, providing excellent service and resolving issues promptly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support operational delivery and continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of and hands-on experience with fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with a variety of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
• Maintenance experience with aspirating detection systems.
• Level 3 EAL or FIA qualifications in Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting Systems would be beneficial but are not essential, as training will be provided.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays when required.

What We Offer

• Competitive basic salary of up to £40,000, depending on experience, plus a commission incentive package.
• Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
• 20 days' annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
• An additional day's holiday for each full year of completed service, up to a maximum of 25 days.
• Travel time paid after the first 30 minutes each way, with callouts paid door to door.
