Job summary

xpate is building modern payment infrastructure and seeks a Legal Counsel to support commercial, regulatory, and data protection matters. You will review contracts, advise on vendor and outsourcing agreements, and help scale the legal function with data governance and automation.

You will work with finance, risk, compliance, product, operations, and IT teams, shaping scalable processes and a trusted legal data workspace across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, payments, data protection, or regulatory legal work.
• Strong contracts, data protection, and legal operations understanding.
• Experience with NDAs, service agreements, vendor contracts, outsourcing arrangements, and internal legal registers.

Responsibilities

• Support legal across commercial, operational, regulatory, and data protection matters.
• Maintain data protection matters with DPO and privacy-by-design.
• Review NDAs, service agreements, vendor docs, marketing materials, and other legal docs.
• Assist in collecting, analyzing, and structuring legal data for decision-making.
• Advise payment schemes, compliance, risk, product, and operations teams.
