Job Title: FinOps Cloud Solution Architect

Location: London

Corporate Title: Vice President

Our FinOps function drives financial accountability of cloud consumption at Deutsche Bank, providing distributed teams with insights into their consumption, spend, and optimization/control options to ensure cloud usage is managed efficiently.

We are seeking an individual with a passion for technology and Cloud, a strong technical background in Cloud Platforms, Cloud billing, Cloud FinOps, and associated tooling and infrastructure cost optimization. You should have a proven track record of excellent problem-solving skills.

As the FinOps Cloud Solution Architect, you will be responsible for driving cloud financial management strategies and ensuring cost-efficient cloud operations. You will act as an SME within our FinOps team for cloud optimisation initiatives, cost-efficient architecture, and billing. Additionally, you will oversee the bank’s FinOps Tooling strategy and engineering work, collaborating with external functions including platform engineering, Finance, and business teams.

Your key responsibilities

• Act as SME for cost-efficient architecture across cloud providers (Azure, GCP)
• Lead billing and cost optimization initiatives for infrastructure services on cloud and on-premise
• Analyze GCP billing and usage data to identify wasteful spend and optimize costs
• Lead FinOps Tooling strategy, architecture, and engineering
• Promote financial governance and FinOps best practices across the bank
• Collaborate with stakeholders including Finance, Platform Engineering, and Business teams to ensure efficient technology spend

Your skills and experience

• Experience with GCP infrastructure and services
• Proven ability in cloud financial management tools (e.g., Looker, Cloudability, CloudHealth)
• Expertise in Cloud billing, architecture, and cost optimization
• Proficiency in Terraform, GitHub Workflows, Python, Excel, SQL
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and organizational change
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or higher, with relevant Cloud Certifications
