Job summary

Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Ltd, based at the Denham site in Middlesex, is seeking a Finishing Operative. You will undertake metal finishing processes, predominantly anodising, and contribute to high-quality lifesaving equipment manufactured for global aircrew.

The role is onsite at our Denham plant with a focus on process chemicals, finishing operations, and strict adherence to health and safety standards. This is a hands-on position in a critical, life-saving production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with anodising / metal finishing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of health and safety / QA controls (COSHH).
• SAP experience is desirable.
• Demonstrates Martin-Baker values.

Responsibilities

• Operate anodising finishing equipment in manual and automated production lines.
• Prepare components for finishing by bunging, masking, jigging, etc.
• Operate barrel tumbling and vibratory finishing equipment.
• Prepare metallic surface for anodising and passivation.
• Mask components to keep bores, holes, and slots free from media.
• Inspect parts during finishing processes.

Job Summary

As a Finishing Operative at our impressive finishing plant, you’ll undertake metal finishing processes and inspection operations, primarily anodising to the required quality standards; the team is proud of quality levels involved with their finishing processes at our Denham site. The Opportunity

In this role, the ideal candidate needs to be conversant with and undertake a variety of tasks including vibration deburr, passivation, phosphating and work collaboratively as part of the Finishing team to produce lifesaving equipment.

This is an onsite role based at our Denham site.

What You’ll Do

• To operate anodising finishing equipment in both manual and automated production line.
• To prepare components for finishing processes by bunging, masking, jigging, etc.
• To operate barrel tumbling and vibratory finishing equipment.
• To prepare the metallic surface for further processing including anodising and passivation.
• To prepare components for finishing processes by bunging, masking, jigging, etc.
• To suitably mask components to ensure bores, holes, slots, etc are free from abrasive media before entering machinery.
• To undertake inspection of parts.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with process chemicals, working in an anodising / metal finishing environment.
• Basic manufacturing / engineering background and reading / interpreting engineering drawings.
• Background in health and safety / QAIs andCOSHH regulations.
• SAP experience desirable.
