Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Finishing Operative in Cramlington. This role is based in a print and production environment, offering afternoon or night shifts from Monday to Friday, with weekends off.

The hourly rate is £12.82 and pattern consistency is ensured by set shift patterns. Responsibilities include operating finishing machinery, quality inspection, packing, loading materials and performing routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in print finishing, production, manufacturing or warehousing is desirable but not essential.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and maintain high-quality standards.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines and targets.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination when handling materials and operating machinery.
• The ability to follow job sheets, written instructions and production procedures accurately.
• A reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate finishing machinery to cut, crease, fold, trim and bind printed materials to customer specifications.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency.
• Pack and prepare completed print jobs for dispatch, ensuring orders are correctly labelled and protected.
• Load materials into machinery and monitor production processes to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of finishing equipment.
• Identify and report printing defects, damaged materials or machinery faults to supervisors.
• Follow job sheets and production instructions to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with health and safety procedures.
• Work towards daily production targets while maintaining attention to detail.
• Collaborate with printing and production teams to meet deadlines and fulfil customer orders.

The Business

Our client is an established business operating within the print and production industry, specialising in producing high-quality printed materials for a wide range of customers.

With a focus on quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction, the business relies on a dedicated production team to ensure printed products are finished to specification, carefully packaged and ready for dispatch.

Due to ongoing production requirements, they are looking to recruit reliable and motivated Finishing Operatives to join their team at their Cramlington facility.

The Role

As a Finishing Operative, you will play an important role in the final stages of the printing process, ensuring products are finished to a high standard and prepared for delivery to customers.

Working within a fast-paced production environment, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating finishing machinery to cut, crease, fold, trim and bind printed materials to customer specifications.
• Inspecting finished products to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency.
