This role offers an opportunity to develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of clients and prospects with accountability for retention, new business development, client strategy, and placement. You will manage and develop relationships within Willis Towers Watson, grow the portfolio within the business unit, and target and convert prospects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Director & Officers Liability area and be skilled in crafting strategies to quantify, mitigate, and transfer risk for clients in the UK and overseas.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build constructive relationships and lead correspondence with clients, underwriters, claim managers, third parties, and service providers.
- Understand clients’ business and risk management needs, providing ongoing service solutions.
- Develop and execute client relationship strategies.
- Determine solutions, structure, pricing, and placement strategies that meet client needs and ensure profitability.
- Participate in client communications and meetings, providing high-level technical expertise.
- Utilize expertise from technical teams within the BU and across the Group.
- Serve as the primary senior contact for clients within FINEX.
Business Development:
- Support sales processes to win, retain, and develop profitable new clients.
- Maintain a prospect list through research, contact initiation, meetings, RFP responses, and presentations, using CRM effectively.
- Respond promptly to new business opportunities.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Stay informed about Willis Towers Watson’s products and services.
- Expand existing portfolios by exploring new opportunities.
- Network internally and externally to develop relationships.
Broking:
- Design programs, pricing, and placement strategies to meet client needs based on market knowledge.
- Manage team efforts in market identification, information gathering, and negotiation support.
- Ensure transparency with carriers and clients regarding commitments.
- Build and maintain relationships with underwriters in London and international markets.
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines and procedures.
Placement Management:
- Develop service plans outlining engagement and timing.
- Apply and explain BU policies, ensuring contract compliance per FCA and contract certainty standards.
- Deliver high-quality ongoing client service.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue tracking.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to maximize service levels.
- Manage KPIs and SLAs to meet targets.
Other Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary senior point of contact within FINEX.
- Provide technical, industry, and subject matter expertise.
- Represent FINEX/Willis Towers Watson in industry panels, webinars, and social media.
- Participate in the [product] Executive committee.
- Coach colleagues and support performance and training initiatives.
- Promote a respectful, high-performance work environment.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team, maintaining high morale and integrity.
- Support risk management efforts within the BU.
- Perform other duties as required and maintain relevant qualifications.
- Travel overseas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Director & Officers insurance and financial lines products.
- Preferably ACII qualified, working towards or interested in completing ACII.
- Proven record in client service and new business development.
- Knowledge of global insurance markets.
- Understanding of broking and claims processes.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Excellent presentation and written skills.
- Analytical and concise conclusion skills.
- Solution-oriented with a drive for change and team motivation.
- Interpersonal skills to build effective relationships.
- Business and political awareness.
- Regulatory licenses and permissions under UK law and FCA rules.
