We require a diverse range of skills to facilitate our growing number of courses in fine art, fashion design, graphics, and digital media.

We are seeking a candidate from a Fine Art background with the ability to design, deliver, and assess high-quality creative study programmes across various UAL qualifications, including Level 1 Diploma in Art, Design and Media; Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design; and Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication. Candidates should possess industry experience or a degree in their subject area and be passionate about teaching. An enthusiasm for developing and promoting students’ English, Maths, and employability skills within the subject area is essential. The role also requires the ability to set targets and monitor students' progress to ensure successful outcomes.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

The following outlines the main priorities as directed by the Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal, Executive Director, or Director of Service, and is not an exhaustive list:

  • Manage day-to-day course activities, including communication, problem-solving, timetable management, arranging cover, coordinating work experience and enrichment activities, liaising with departments, and ensuring compliance and consistency across sites.
  • Assist with recruitment, manage enrolments, and facilitate induction programmes for students.
  • Conduct regular meetings with students, set and review SMART targets, support UCAS applications, and address pastoral needs, liaising with college services as needed.
  • Monitor attendance and results, report on performance, and implement action plans to improve retention and achievement.
  • Support English and Maths provision, including monitoring attendance and progress.
  • Participate in meetings, parent evenings, marketing events, and college committees, and coordinate parent consultations.

  • Contribute to departmental administration, including record-keeping, reporting, and updating the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Engage in quality assurance activities such as verification, moderation, and course reviews.

Lecturers on SPS points 5–8 will additionally undertake internal verification, coordinate action plans, support curriculum development, monitor UCAS references, and liaise with higher education institutions.
