Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a qualified accounting professional to support the Head of European Accounting in the UK & Ireland. Based in Syston, Leicester on a hybrid-basis, the role covers accounting, reporting and review for UK&I business units.

You will act as reporting accountant, manage annual accounts closure, liaise with auditors and ensure IFRS/US GAAP compliance while coordinating month-end closings for European entities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years finance or accounting experience.
• Audit experience essential.
• Demonstrate understanding of IFRS and US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Act as reporting accountant for UK & Ireland regulatory and statutory reporting.
• Lead the annual accounts closure for UK & Ireland and production of financial statements.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors for year-end schedule and audit process.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS and US GAAP and provide technical accounting advice.
• Coordinate month-end closing processes for European entities.

About The Role

Our Accounting team is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity perfect for a qualified accounting professional to play a vital role in supporting the Head of European Accounting. Based in our Syston, Leicester office (LE7 1PL) operating on a hybrid-basis, you will be responsible for accounting, reporting and review of the UK and Ireland business units.

Responsibilities

• Act as reporting accountant to prepare regulatory financial and statutory reporting for the UK and Ireland businesses;
• Manage the closure of the annual accounts process for the UK and Ireland businesses, leading on the production of the financial statements;
• Liaise effectively with external and internal auditors regarding the year-end schedule and audit process for the UK and Ireland businesses;
• Responsible for ensuring the business is adhering to accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP) and providing technical advice on accounting treatments;
• Responsible for the co-ordination of month end closing process for European entities;

About You

• Minimum 3+ years finance or accounting experience
• Audit experience essential
• Qualified ACA/ACCA
• Demonstrate a detailed technical understanding of both international and local financial reporting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and show the ability to interpret and apply these standards to both local circumstances
• Highly organised
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate well with all levels of staff, including executive & senior management, and to be a team player as part of wider virtual team

• Ability to work on own initiative and to manage own workload against tight deadlines
