Job summary

Aviva is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Norwich with 50% hybrid working. You will join the Group External Reporting team to ensure accurate financial records, strong balance sheets, and robust external reporting at group and legal entity levels.

You’ll review transactions, oversee governance checks, support forecasts, and help produce senior management packs and financial statements, collaborating with UK and Sri Lankan teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with prior experience in finance roles including external/internal reporting and general ledger.
• Knowledge of financial control framework and finance systems (Oracle Fusion).
• Good organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with senior management.
• Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving and process improvement abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of Aviva’s financial records and balance sheet.
• Lead governance checks and control oversight; support forecasts and performance tracking.
• Produce senior management packs and financial statements for group and legal entities.
• Coordinate outputs with the Group Centre Finance team in the UK and WNS in Sri Lanka; engage with senior stakeholders.

Financial Reporting Manager

12-month Fixed-term Contract

Location: Norwich, York based (50% hybrid working)

Salary: circa £50,000 - £55,000

A bit about the job:

You’ll join our Group External Reporting team (specifically in the Group Centre Finance team), making sure Aviva’s financial records are accurate and complete. Your work will keep our balance sheet strong and support external reporting (both on a group and legal entity reporting level). You’ll review key transactions, lead governance checks and control oversight, help produce forecasts (and track performance against them), support the production of senior management packs and produce financial statements.

You will work closely with the rest of the Group Centre team here in the UK and manage the output of our WNS colleagues in Sri Lanka while also gaining good exposure to senior stakeholders. Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with prior experience of undertaking a Finance role(s), preferably with external/internal reporting and general ledger experience.
• Knowledge of financial control framework and finance systems (e.g. Oracle Fusion)
• Good organisational skills, with ability to manage numerous tasks at once.
• Good interpersonal skills i.e. be able to communicate clearly with senior management
• Strong analytical mindset alongside excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify and implement process improvements.
