Tempting Recruitment is supporting a London-based local authority in finding an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to oversee financial reporting, governance and fund accounting. The role focuses on ensuring integrity of records, managing teams, and delivering improvements within regulatory standards.

The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified, with public sector reporting experience and strong governance knowledge to steward public monies and Collection Fund accounting.

Qualifications

• Qualified CCAB or equivalent with public sector experience.
• Experience producing Local Authority statements of accounts.
• Strong knowledge of financial control and governance.
• Understanding of Collection Fund accounting and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Lead small projects and implement changes within agreed cost, time and quality standards.
• Provide assurance that operations comply with regulatory, statutory and professional standards.
• Manage 1–10 FTE staff and provide supervision to ensure delivery of plans.
• Oversee day-to-day financial reporting activities and deadlines.

Job Role

The post holder is required to support the Head of Financial Reporting & Control to maintain the integrity of financial records and accounts for Kingston and Sutton.

Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Lead small projects and implement changes and improvements within agreed cost, time and quality standards.
• Provide assurance that the Council’s operations are being conducted within defined regulatory, statutory and professional standards.
• Responsible for the management of 1-10 FTE’s
• Provide day to day management and professional supervision to staff to ensure operational plans and activities are delivered effectively.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• CCAB (or equivalent) qualified
• Experience of leading or contributing to the production of Local Authority statement of accounts
• Knowledge and understanding of financial control and governance processes that provide strong stewardship of public monies
• Knowledge & understanding of Collection Fund accounting and reporting
