Job summary

JSS is recruiting a senior technical accounting leader for its Group Statutory Reporting team in London. You will have substantial post-qualification experience, ownership, and a track record of building out major reporting functions in a flat, low-structure environment.

The role covers IFRS 2, 9, 15 & 16, annual report production, and consolidation, with broad exposure to stakeholders and the external audit process.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA or equivalent with 3+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in financial services or fintech preferred.
• Proven IFRS 2, 9, 15 & 16 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead group reporting and consolidation for a multinational group with IFRS compliance.
• Coordinate end-to-end production of Annual Report & Accounts and interim reporting with stakeholders.
• Own external audit relationship and drive a controlled close.
• Develop group accounting policy and best practices for a listed environment.
• Mentor and develop the wider team as the function scales and succession planning evolves.

JSS are exclusively retained by a well regarded, fast-scaling financial services organisation to find a senior technical accounting leader for its Group Statutory Reporting team. This is a senior level, build oriented role for someone with substantial post qualification experience who wants real ownership as the organisation and its reporting requirements continue to grow. It sits within a small, flat structured team, with genuine succession potential into the Head of function role over time.

What you'll own:

• Group reporting and consolidation for a complex, multinational group, ensuring IFRS compliance
• End-to-end production of elements of the Annual Report & Accounts and interim reporting, coordinating across stakeholders to listed-entity standard
• The external audit relationship as a primary point of contact, managing the process to a controlled close
• Technical accounting leadership across IFRS 2, 9, 15 & 16
• Development of group accounting policy and best practice suitable for a listed environment
• Mentoring and developing the wider team as the function builds out
• Genuine succession potential into the Head of function role as the team and reporting requirements grow

Experience

• Trained at a professional services firm with financial services audit exposure
• Chartered Accountant or equivalent with at least 3 years post qualification experience
• Direct Banking or Fintech highly desirable however wider Financial Services sought after
• Direct industry experience preferred with at least 2 years in a reporting function
• Practical, applied expertise across IFRS 2, 9, 15 & 16
• IFRS 9 – understanding the output and disclosures of EIR/ECL
• Confident operating at senior stakeholder level, including holding technical challenge from external auditors
• Comfortable in a lean, flat team structure where ownership is broad and the function is still being built out

Hybrid role in London (2/3 days a week in the office).
