Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts invites university students to join a Finance Placement in Financial Reporting. Based at the Branston hub, you will engage with regional reporting, learn our financial systems and support monthly and quarterly reporting across Americas and EMEA.

You will gain hands-on experience in statutory accounts, iXBRL tagging for HMRC, and group reporting while working in a hybrid setup with three days in the office each week. The placement runs 54 weeks starting 23 August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly accounting reviews for the Americas and EMEA regions.
• Run financial reports and trial balances to support monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Assist in preparing UK statutory accounts and apply iXBRL tagging for HMRC filing.
• Contribute to the Group Financial Statements section of IHG’s Annual Report and Form 20-F accounts.
• Carry out system user access reviews to support financial controls.
• Collaborate with Treasury on bank reconciliations, banking access reviews and exposure reports.
• Participate in ad-hoc global projects alongside day-to-day reporting work.

Duration: 54 weeks, including a two-week handover with the current placement student.

Support our Regional Financial Reporting teams, with opportunities to work alongside Group Financial Reporting and Treasury. You’ll:

• Prepare monthly accounting reviews for the Americas and EMEA regions, supporting management review and compliance with financial controls.
• Help deliver monthly and quarterly reporting by running financial reports and trial balances.
• Support the preparation of UK statutory accounts and apply iXBRL tagging, which labels financial information for filing with HMRC.
• Help prepare the Group Financial Statements section of IHG’s Annual Report and Form 20-F accounts.
• Carry out system user access reviews to support financial controls.
• Work with Treasury on bank reconciliations, banking access reviews and financial exposure reports.
• Get involved in ad-hoc global projects alongside your day-to-day reporting work.
