Role Overview

The Finance team at TP ICAP manages financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, managing cash and balance sheets globally, and supporting regulatory compliance and risk management. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will own the group’s accounting policies and their global application.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Own the group’s IFRS-based accounting policies for a Jersey-structured group listed on the London Stock Exchange.
  2. Lead the preparation of annual, half-year, and interim reports, including related RNS, press releases, and documents.
  3. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, control, and resilience.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with global teams including Tax, Legal, Company Secretarial, Treasury, Compliance, and Finance to ensure accurate reporting.
  5. Act as the primary contact for external auditors, managing audits effectively and within budget.
  6. Support organizational design to ensure compliance with accounting policies and consolidation standards.
  7. Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts for subsidiaries.
  8. Provide guidance on IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP for strategic transactions.
  9. Assess and advise on new and amended accounting standards.
  10. Assist in budgeting and forecasting, focusing on balance sheets and related analyses.
  11. Review monthly financial reports, focusing on balance sheets and cash flow forecasts.
  12. Maintain current professional knowledge and pursue Continuing Professional Development as per ICAEW or equivalent standards.
Experience / Competences

Essential:

  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in or with FCA/PRA-regulated financial services firms.
  • Extensive IFRS experience in a UK or global listed company.
  • Knowledge of UK rules on reserves and dividends.
  • Deep understanding of financial statement preparation and IFRS disclosures.
  • Experience supporting a Group Finance function.

Desired:

  • Experience across UK listed financial services firms.
  • Corporate M&A transactions and due diligence experience.
  • Experience with reorganizations and organizational structuring.
  • Ability to challenge external auditors constructively.
