Specialist Interim & Contract Accounting & Finance Recruiter for the Insurance industry

Contract: 3 months (with potential to extend)

Location: Remote/Hybrid – Occasional travel to Birkenhead (2 days/week max)

We are currently supporting a business with the urgent delivery of UK GAAP statutory accounts across approximately five legal entities, including engineering firms and an insurance MGA. Following team changes, they’re looking to bring in a qualified interim finance professional to leadon external audit coordination and ensure delivery to strict deadlines alongside consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and review of UK GAAP statutory accounts
• Work directly with auditors to manage queries and ensure audit readiness
• Review working files and ensure accuracy ahead of submission
• Support and draft technical papers (e.g. Going Concern assessments)
• Prepare narrative and disclosure sections of financial statements (Word documents)
• Liaise with stakeholders across the business to gather inputs and resolve audit points

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA preferred), ideally Big 4-trained
• Strong post-qualified experience in external audit support and statutory reporting
• Comfortable getting into the detail – able to calculate figures even if not posting journals
• Sector background in insurance or engineering useful but not essential
