Rheinmetall Defence UK Ltd in Almondsbury Bristol

Role: Financial Reporting Accountant

Reporting to Financial Reporting Manager

Purpose

The Financial Reporting Accountant is a new role for the rapidly expanding Rheinmetall Vehicle Systems International (VSI) division headquartered out of Bristol. VSI was established as a new division in late 2023 and consolidates Rheinmetall land-based vehicle systems operations in the UK, USA, and Australia.

Scope

Consolidating VSI financial data for Rheinmetall group reporting and providing financial insights to support senior management steering.

Key Tasks and Activities:

1. Monthly reporting under IFRS
2. Inter-company consolidation of financial information for the division
3. Coordination of monthly cash flow reporting along with analysis
4. Support the annual budget process and in-year forecasts
5. Provide support to senior management as required. This will include business analysis, strategic oversight, and identification of areas for improvement and management of key projects.
6. Financial analysis and reporting on long-term customer contracts

Regular interfaces:

Directly working with central functions such as accounting, treasury, and controlling based in Rheinmetall group headquarters as well as operating finance teams in VSI’s legal entities in the UK, US, and AUS. Interface with operational VSI functions and senior leadership team.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Key Technical Skills / Competencies:

1. Able to prepare and present difficult and complex financial/operational information in a simple and meaningful way
2. Strong financial analytical experience
3. Ability to work to tight deadlines
4. Able to present competently and confidently to senior management
5. Clear focus, attention to detail, commercially astute, and a strategic thinker focused on execution
6. Highly motivated business partnering; ability to work with a partnering culture to develop positive relationships both internally and externally
7. Proactive, positive, can-do mentality
