Job description

Job Title: Financial & Property Accountant

Salary: £35k - £45k

Location: Central London - Hybrid Options

Hours: 9:30am - 6pm

Summary:

We are representing a Property Management & Investment firm based in Central London, focusing on Pan-European value-add investments across Residential and Commercial Real Estate. Since opening their London office in 2020, they have experienced significant growth and are now expanding their Property Accounting team.

The role reports to the Financial Controller and involves managing all financial functions related to the assigned property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a background in Commercial Real Estate and be actively studying professional exams (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).

Key Responsibilities

• Managing financial statements for multiple portfolios.
• Reviewing and amending transactions posted by managing agents or asset management teams as necessary.
• Liaising regularly with managing agents, asset managers, and property management accountants to ensure transaction accuracy and integrity.
• Reviewing invoices and purchase orders posted by the accounts payable team.
• Preparing journal entries for corrections, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and capitalisation.
• Analyzing capex information.
• Providing VAT and CIS tax return information within specified timelines.
• Assisting with buying and selling assets or companies, ensuring correct accounting treatment.
• Supporting the onboarding of new companies when required.
• Performing quarterly reconciliations of balance sheets and profit & loss accounts.
• Preparing quarterly financial statements in accordance with IFRS & FRS 102.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual statutory accounts and responding to audit queries.
• Providing cover for team members as needed.
