Job summary

Oliver James Group in Central London is partnering with a specialist UK insurer to recruit a Newly/Nearly Qualified Life or Pensions Actuary for the Financial and Actuarial Team.

Location: Central London with three days in the office. You will blend technical financial reporting with commercial insight to support solvency monitoring and business planning.

The role includes stress testing across the balance sheet and liaising with stakeholders to develop commercial judgement.

Qualifications

• NNQ Life or Pensions Actuary
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and influencing senior stakeholders

Job description

I'm partnered with a specialist UK insurer who are looking for a Life or Pensions Newly/Nearly Qualified Actuary to join their Financial and Actuarial Team.

Location: Central London x 3 days per week in the office

This is a great opportunity to combine technical and commercial skills, liaising with different business units and gaining broad exposure across the wider business. You will work closely with the Finance, Origination, Risk and Investment, providing insight and analysis to support senior management and key business decisions.

You will be involved in the preparation of regular forecasts and business plans, supporting Solvency monitoring and business plan projections, as well as responding to ad-hoc queries from senior stakeholders and shareholders. There is also opportunity to support with the stress and scenario testing across the balance sheet.

The ideal candidate:

• NNQ Life or Pensions Actuary
• Good technical knowledge of financial reporting
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders
• Previous experience in a similar position would be highly desirable.
