A leading company in London is seeking a Finance & Planning Analyst for a 6+ month contract with the potential to go permanent. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing budgets, conducting variance analysis and preparing management accounts. This position requires a qualified accountant with relevant experience in the insurance industry, excellent analytical and communication skills.

• Experience of building detailed, complex financial models.

Job description

Job Title: Finance & Planning Analyst

Duration: 6+ months with potential to go permanent

Rate/Salary: £500-650 per day inside IR35 (subject to experience)

Location: Based in central London (5 days on-site)

The Role:

• Develop and manage budgets and financial plans
• Support monthly variance analysis for reporting purposes
• Assist in the development of the budgeting and forecasting system
• Develop financial models and metrics to enable key decision making
• Regular monitoring of all insurance balances to ensure any issues are promptly identified for resolution e.g. unallocated cash position, aged debt profile
• Regular reviews of cash management effectiveness (collections and payments)
• Preparation of management accounts reports
• Support audit preparation and management as and when required.

Experience Required:

• Qualified Accountant with 2+ years Insurance industry experience is a must
• Strong written and spoken communication skills to enable communication at all levels
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Experience of building detailed, complex financial models
• Experience using Anaplan is desirable but not essential
