MCS Group are partnering with a UK professional services group to appoint a Financial Planning Analyst in Belfast. The role sits in the Finance team, offering FP&A exposure and senior stakeholder interaction.

The successful candidate will support budgets, forecasts and financial modelling, with strong Excel skills and Power Query/Power Pivot advantageous. Hybrid working with at least 2 days in Belfast.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Post-qualified experience in a commercial finance environment.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
  • Power Query and Power Pivot experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and long-term strategic financial plans.
  • Assist with rolling profit and cash flow forecasts across the Group.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support senior leadership and investors.
  • Lead financial investment appraisals for significant strategic investments.
  • Support variance analysis and routine financial reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance, contract profitability and staff utilisation.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to provide meaningful commercial insight.

Financial Planning Analyst

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading UK professional services group as they look to appoint a Financial Planning Analyst to join their growing Finance team in Belfast.

The Company

Our client is a privately owned UK professional services group specialising in pensions, actuarial, investment consulting, trustee and administration services, supporting clients across the UK.

With a number of specialist businesses operating under the wider Group, the organisation is continuing to grow and develop across a number of strategic areas. As part of this growth, they are now looking to strengthen their Finance function with the appointment of a Financial Planning Analyst.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to develop their career within FP&A and commercial finance, with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic decision-making.

The Rewards

As the successful Financial Planning Analyst, you will receive:

  • Hybrid working, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the Belfast office

The Role

Reporting directly to the Interim FP&A Lead, the Financial Planning Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and longer-term strategic financial plans

  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support senior leadership and investors
  • Leading financial investment appraisals for significant strategic investments

The Person

The successful Financial Planning Analyst will meet the following criteria:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Post-qualified experience within a commercial finance environment
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
  • Power Query and Power Pivot experience would be highly advantageous

Previous FP&A experience is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with strong accounting fundamentals, advanced Excel/data skills and a genuine interest in developing within commercial finance will be considered.
