Job summary

MJMK Restaurants is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to lead forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting across our group of award-winning restaurants in London. You will partner with Group Finance and operational leaders to ground plans in numbers and drive data-led decisions.

You’ll own long-range financial modeling, weekly KPI reporting, and cost-control initiatives while supporting new openings and capital expenditure assessments.

Qualifications

• Strong FP&A/management accounting background.
• Experience building budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Ability to model three-year plans and KPI finance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget end to end from departmental input to consolidated budget for the Group FD and Board.
• Manage quarterly rolling forecasts, capex forecasts and three-year plan (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Own weekly KPI and flash reporting cadence for operations and finance.
• Provide analysis and commentary for monthly board pack, flag risks and opportunities.
• Analyse variances and drive cost efficiencies and revenue growth.
• Set and monitor labour and prime-cost targets with Cost Controller and Ops.
• Drive pricing and menu-mix strategy with finance data.
• Model investment for new openings and report spend, variances, and risks to Board.
• Partner Operations, Support Office and Cost Controller to turn performance into actions.
• Champion tech and AI to automate reporting and cost control.

Up to £75,000 dependent on experience

MJMK Restaurants is growing, and with that comes a need for stronger financial planning and clearer insight behind every decision. We're creating a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager role to lead that work as the group scales.

The role owns all forecasting, budgeting, analysis and operational reporting across the group. It exists to give the leadership team a clear, honest view of performance, so that plans are grounded in reality and every restaurant, opening and decision can be judged on the numbers.You'll report to the Group Finance Director and act as a key business partner to them and to operational leadership. It's a role for a strong analytical finance professional, likely from an FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting background, who is as comfortable building a three-year model as they are challenging a site's labour costs. Hospitality or multi-site experience will help you hit the ground running.

This is an analysis and business-partnering role, with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget end to end, from departmental input through to presenting the consolidated budget to the Group Finance Director and Board.
• Manage the quarterly rolling forecasts, capital expenditure forecast and three-year plan, covering P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and covenants.
• Own the weekly KPI and flash reporting cadence, giving the operations team timely financial insight.
• Provide the analysis and commentary for the monthly board pack, monitoring performance against budget and flagging risks and opportunities early.
• Analyse P&L variances against budget and prior year, identifying cost efficiencies and revenue growth.
• Set and monitor labour and prime-cost targets, working with the Cost Controller on gross profit and with Operations on labour productivity.
• Drive pricing and menu-mix strategy, drawing on the Cost Controller's menu-engineering analysis.
• Manage capital and operating budgets for new openings, model potential sites for investment appraisal and report spend, variances and risks to the Board.
• Business-partner Operations, the Support Office and the Cost Controller, turning performance into clear actions and challenge.
• Champion technology and AI across finance, automating reporting, cost control and analysis and driving adoption.

What We're Looking For

This role suits a sharp, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys turning detail into decisions and isn't afraid to challenge what the numbers show.

• You will bring:A strong finance background in FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting, ideally with a relevant qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Proven experience building and owning budgets, rolling forecasts and long-range financial models.
• Confident modelling skills across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• A talent for clear analysis and commentary that helps non-finance colleagues make better decisions.
• Experience business-partnering operational teams, with the confidence to challenge as well as support.
• A commercial eye for pricing, margin and cost control.
• Experience in a multi-site hospitality business.
• Genuine curiosity about technology and AI, and a drive to automate and improve how finance works.
• Strong attention to detail, well organised and calm under the pressure of tight reporting deadlines.
• A warm, collaborative style that builds trust across the business.

About MJMK Restaurants

MJMK Restaurants owns and operates a collection of award-winning restaurants. Founded in 2018 by lifelong friends Jake Kasumov and Marco Mendes, our journey began with Casa do Frango.
